Frequently asked questions

Everything you might be wondering about how our estate sales work. Still have a question? We're just a phone call away.

An estate sale is a large-scale event organized to sell the belongings of an individual or family, typically due to major life changes like relocation, downsizing, or the passing of a loved one. These sales feature a wide range of items at fair prices, helping families liquidate possessions while providing closure.

You get full-service help from start to finish! We organize, sort, price, stage, advertise, and run your estate sale. We also offer cleanout services and professional organization support — all without upfront costs.

Contact us to schedule a complimentary, no-obligation consultation. During this meeting, we'll assess your needs, explain our services, and provide a customized plan. Call us at (760) 991-7948 to get started.

You only need to remove the items you want to keep — we handle the rest! Our team manages sorting, pricing, and staging, and we carefully set aside any personal documents and photos for you.

We use a combination of industry knowledge, market research, and expertise to determine fair market prices for each item, with the goal of maximizing your return while ensuring the sale sells through.

We maximize exposure and attract motivated buyers through a multi-faceted marketing strategy — listings on estatesales.net and estatesale.org, social media, Craigslist, email outreach, and day-of signage.

We do not allow clients to be in the home during set-up hours or the sale. Professional management without the client present consistently yields better financial outcomes. Remote service is available for out-of-state clients.

We keep you updated throughout the entire process through emails, phone calls, and video and photo updates, so you always know how things are progressing.

To maximize your return, we accept a variety of payment methods including cash, credit cards, Zelle, CashApp, and PayPal. All purchases are made on-site.

For any unsold items of value, we'll post them on online platforms to keep trying to sell them for you. Remaining options — donation, buyout, or full cleanout — are discussed during your consultation, and you choose how to proceed.

Typically, we provide a sales receipt within 2 to 10 days after the sale is complete. All final payments are made by check and mailed directly to you.

Our team has experience handling high-value and specialty items. We conduct thorough research to ensure they're appropriately priced and marketed to attract the right buyers.

Absolutely. We specialize in managing estate sales for hoarding situations, handling each case with sensitivity and professionalism to find effective solutions for even the most challenging scenarios.

Security is a priority. We use controlled access with one entrance and one exit, keep all high-value items and jewelry in locked display cases up front with Kate, handle payments securely, and provide constant supervision throughout the sale.

You can reach us through the contact form on our website, email us at KatesEstateSales@gmail.com, or call us at (760) 991-7948.
